Easthampton Community Electricity is a program offered by the City to provide residents and businesses more electricity supply options and more renewable energy. The program is a city-vetted alternative to Eversource’s default supply and other third party electricity suppliers.
Easthampton Community Electricity is launching in October 2026!
Easthampton has chosen Direct Energy as the supplier for the Easthampton Community Electricity program. The program will launch in October 2026 and have fixed prices for 13 Months until November 2027.
Customers eligible for automatic enrollment in Easthampton Community Electricity will be mailed a notification letter in August 2026. If you receive the letter, you are slated to be enrolled in Easthampton Standard (15.517 ¢/kWh) as of the October meter read. No action is necessary to receive this price. If you are enrolled, you may always leave the program at any time, without penalty.
If you do not receive a letter, you will not be automatically enrolled. You may join the program by submitting a request to enroll here.

The City of Easthampton will hold a community meetings on Easthampton’s new Community Electricity Program on Thursday, September 3rd at 6 PM. Interested in attending? There are two ways to join:

Participants in the program will automatically receive Easthampton Standard, the community default, unless they chose one of the other optional products. To choose a different product click here.
Future savings cannot be guaranteed. The additional Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) qualify for MA Class I designation and come only from solar, wind, anaerobic digestion and low impact hydro. RECs are the accepted legal instrument used to track renewable energy generation and to substantiate claims of renewable energy use. Please note: If you are a new medium, large or very large business customer, or opt out of the Program, the supplier has the option to offer a market price if you enroll in the future. Market prices will be offered by the electricity supplier in writing, and you will not be enrolled in that price unless you affirmatively accept.
